Ronald McDonald

Amanda and I are staying at the Ronald McDonald House in Wilmington, Del. It's a wonderful place with great people who have really made things a little easier in this difficult time.

Even more valuable, however, have been the great emails and blog comments we've received from so many others. It's truly comforting to know so many people have us in their thoughts.

Thank you.

(I tried posting this and more yesterday, but it didn't seem to take. Trying again now ...)

God bless the three of you! You certainly are in my mind and heart and prayers.

Before tears completely overcome me, I am mindful of this:

As a parent, what I quickly learned is that our children, and yes, even our infants, are incredibly resilient creatures, and that what happens to them hurts parents the most, the children less.

Years down the road, this will likely be just a blip in Nathaniel's life, one of those stories that mom and dad tell when the family gathers.

Fear not, love deeply, rest as best you can.
