Eyes open!
Nathaniel looks great this morning (other than being tied down and having tubes all around and in him). He's blinking and moving around and looking somewhat unhappy -- which is exactly how I imagine anybody getting better after unexpected surgery would look. He's even blinking and moving around a little more when he hears voices.
But the best thing is that he's looking around. His eyes are open and he seems to try to look towards voices around him. It was really exciting to see.
Nonetheless, the nurse said not to expect any tubes to be removed today. She said it might happen, and that all his signs are where they should be, but that they're probably taking things slow and steady. That's fine with us.

Mark and Amanda,
I am SOOOO happy to hear Nathaniel's surgery went well! We have all been so anxious to hear the news (we should have checked out your blog page a long time ago). Please, please, please let me know if there is ANYTHING I can do to help, AT ALL! I'm thinking of you guys and Nathaniel!! I can't wait to see pictures!!!!!!
Mark & Amanda -
All of your friends in Pittsburgh are thrilled to hear the surgery was successful and we are keeping all 3 of you in our prayers! We can't wait to meet Nathaniel! All of our love and continued well wishes.
John and Irene were over last night on their way home form seeing you all. I sam the pictures and boy Mark, he is your son!!!! What a boy! I can not wait for this to all settle down for you so you can remember the delivery. You both sounded so excited in your blog and I am sure the delivery is just a distant.....memory.
Can't wait for us all to vacation down the shore with our little ones.
You continue to stay in my prayers. Much love Beckie
