Graduation week
All this week, Nathaniel has been moving from the 1st class in his day care (Ducks) to the 2nd class (Lambs) because he's now 18 months old.
As you might imagine, this created a certain amount of nervousness, confusion and tension ... in Amanda and me. Amanda and I were concerned he'd be afraid of the new room and refuse to go there after going for his entire life to a different room with different teachers.
Well, that's not the case. While Amanda notes he's been a little clingier than usual lately, he also seems perfectly happy to run into the new room and just start playing with all the new older kids, barely noticing that we're leaving. And the way they transition at our day care involved Nathaniel coming back to the younger room for a couple days for the standards (eating and nap), but he apparently didn't even care much about that.
So, in the end, it hasn't been that big a deal. He's happy to be playing with more active kids who are doing this wild new thing -- talking! And we're happy that he's happy.
In other news, he's doing a lot better in terms of health right now, and the nebulizer treatments are almost over. We discovered fairly early on that he's happy to have a nebulizer treatment if he gets to watch Thomas the Tank Engine while it's happening (and Mom is giving the treatment). The result: I now wander around humming the Thomas theme song in my head. ARGH!
